Program Summary:
This program will provide Primary Care Physicians the opportunity to learn first hand from national thought leaders in their field. The goal is to provide a clearer understanding of several of the most common disease processes, in light of rapid scientific advances. By doing so, attendees will walk away with new insights and learn useful strategies to manage the challenges faced on a daily basis.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this CME activity, the participant will be able to:
- utilize optimal therapy for patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome based on their clinical and biomarker risk assessments
- more effectively manage heart failure and understand indications and implications of biventricular devices and cardiac defibrillators
- evaluate, stage and manage patients with chronic kidney disease
- understand new emerging concepts and the changing paradigm in management of patients with Diabetes
- review clinical trials of available treatments for Osteoporosis and understand their pros and cons
- understand the advantages of functional imaging with PET and PET/CT and their utility in neoplastic and neurologic disorders
- distinguish Asthma vs. COPD, with the help of spirometry, and utilize optimal treatment strategies for stable and exacerbated disease
- utilize the latest data to effectively treat patients with GERD and erosive esophagitis as well as those requiring the regular use of NSAIDS
