Program Summary:
This program will provide Primary Care Physicians the opportunity to learn first hand from national thought leaders in their field. The goal is to provide a clearer understanding of several of the most common disease processes, in light of rapid scientific advances. By doing so, attendees will walk away with new insights and learn useful strategies to manage the challenges faced on a daily basis.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this CME activity, the participant will be able to:
- stratify patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome by risk and have a clearer understanding of conservative versus invasive treatment strategy with pharmacotherapy and catheter based protocols
- more effectively manage heart failure and understand indications and implications of biventricular devices and cardiac defibrillators
- recognize, diagnose and treat Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis
- understand the importance of pulmonary function testing (spirometry) and utilize the results in the diagnosis and treatment of COPD
- review national guidelines for the diagnosis, admission and treatment of patients with Community Acquired Pneumonia
- evaluate, stage and manage patients with chronic kidney disease
- more effectively evaluate and treat overactive and other voiding disorders with a clearer understanding of the therapeutic options available today including pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic options
- more readily recognize indications for insulin therapy and use effective treatment strategies for more difficult patients with Diabetes
- evaluate diagnose and treat patients with Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy
