Target Audience: Rheumatologists

Learning Objectives:
The intimate setting of this conference will maximize learning and discussion and will enable rheumatologists to learn first hand from thought leaders in their field. Among the proposed topics and objectives will be to:

1. describe the factors involved in bone metabolism critical to fracture prevention and its ramifications for therapies
2. discuss the integration of the biologic agents and the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other entities into outpatient practices
3. explain the safety, efficacy, and economic issues of biologic therapy
4. compare the balance of safety and efficacy with patient needs in the pharmacologic management of arthritis using non-steroidal inflammatories
5. discuss the possible role for aggressive non-biologic therapies that are available for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and related entities
6. discuss advances in the management of systemic lupus erythematosis
7. discuss newer therapies in the treatment of moderate to severe gout
