- Identify barriers to effective diabetes management and discuss impact on outcomes
- Evaluate treatment options to manage disease progression with prescribing and managing insulin therapy
- Case study review and discussion
Part II — June 16, 2005
Resources and Tools for Your Practice
- Review Guidelines & Algorithms for diabetes treatment from nationally recognized organizations
- Discuss the legal implications of the Florida Diabetes Medical Practice Guidelines
- Develop a tool box of resources e.g., flow sheets, DSMT resources, sharing of best practices
- Case study review and discussion
Part III — July 21, 2005
Compliance & Depression in DM Management
- Compare and contrast compliance and empowerment approaches in patient management
- Discuss the impact concurrent depression has on diabetes management outcomes
- Case study review and discussion
